Silvia Gonzalez S. is an award winning playwright whose plays have been performed in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Texas, Arizona, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, and more.

Her well-produced plays include:

In the current climate of immigration reform, EL VAGON and the corallary play BOXCAR have been receiving wider attention. EL VAGON will be produced in New York City at Repertorio Espanol (Spanish Theater Company) as a METLIFE "Voces' winner beginning with a preview on August 2 to August 31, 2007 and will continue in repertory until further notice. www.repertorio.org

ALICIA IN WONDER TIERRA will be produced this September 2007 with Cara Mia Theatre Company produced in conjunction with the Dallas Children's Theater.

Current plays she is working on:

  • BLANCA NIEVE AND THE SEVEN BOYS (a play with puppets)
  • CAMION (incident involving Mexicans smuggled in a Truck)
  • GROUP
  • PARALIZED DESIRE (play with a disabled person)
  • SE HABLA

Briefly, other achievments include: Kennedy Center New Visions New Voices Award, Oregon Arts Commission Fellowship Award, a Sundance Film option, a Lila Wallace/Readers Digest Grant Award  and an Honorable Mention in the HBO's Writer Project. (*See resume tab for other awards and productions.)
